Chiropractic is a health-care profession that focuses on the spine and other joints of the body, and their connection to the nervous system. Chiropractors use scientific research, clinical experience, and patient preferences to provide the best care possible. Chiropractors use adjustments to restore joint function and support the nervous system. They help patients maintain optimal health while avoiding unnecessary drugs or surgery.

A chiropractic adjustment is a very safe, specific, controlled force applied to a joint to restore proper function and mobility. Accidents, falls, stress or overexertion can negatively impact your spine or other joints. These changes impact tissues, the nervous system and other areas of the body. Chiropractic adjustments reduce pain, increase movement and improve performance. (Palmer College of Chiropractic).

Health Treatments That Work

In a study of over 45,000 participants, Consumer Reports revealed that chiropractic treatment for back pain outperformed prescription medication, deep-tissue massage, yoga, pilates, and over-the-counter medication therapies.

“Acute and chronic chiropractic patients experienced better outcomes in pain, functional disability, and patient satisfaction; clinically important differences in pain and disability improvement were found for chronic patients.”

— Haas et al. Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics

“Chiropractic is the largest, most regulated, and best recognized of the complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) professions. CAM patient surveys show that chiropractors are used more often than any other alternative provider group and patient satisfaction with chiropractic care is very high. There is steadily increasing patient use of chiropractic in the United States, which has tripled in the past two decades.”

— Meeker, Haldeman. Annals of Internal Medicine

“Chiropractic patients were found to be more satisfied with their back care providers after four weeks of treatment than were medical patients. Results from observational studies suggested that back pain patients are more satisfied with chiropractic care than with medical care. Additionally, studies conclude that patients are more satisfied with chiropractic care than they were with physical therapy after six weeks.”

— Hertzman-Miller et al. American Journal of Public Health

Auto Accidents and Personal Injury Care

A car crash is a highly stressful experience, especially when you – or your loved ones – are injured. Our doctors and staff strive to provide the best care and also to manage the cases correctly, from the start. Injuries from car crashes are often complicated and symptoms may not surface for months or even years following the incident. We specialize in management of cases, such as these, to provide our patients and their lawyers the information required to get the care necessary to restore those injured to normal life.

Chiropractic care is an effective treatment for car accident injury. Our Champion Health chiropractors will use manual adjustments, Active Release Techniques and corrective exercises to treat your car accident injures. General chiropractic care and a series of manual adjustments aid with pain management for whiplash, herniated discs and headaches. By adjusting your spine and re-aligning your neck and back, we relieve the pressure from your neck, back and head. Proper alignment can also help boost the function of your immune and digestive systems by allowing your nerves to function optimally.

After an accident or injury visit Champion Health. NOTE: Check with the auto insurance company to see if you have “Medpay” coverage. It money is you are entitled to use towards treatment after an accident.

Whiplash

Whiplash is one of the most common injuries sustained in automobile accidents. It occurs during the impact of your accident when your neck is forcibly “whipped” back and forth and side to side past its normal range of motion. Whiplash affects the muscles and soft tissues in your back and neck. You may feel stiffness, back pain and neck pain immediately or it could take days, weeks even months for your symptoms to appear. It is crucial to treat whiplash immediately even if you are not yet experiencing neck or back pain.

Active Release Technique (ART) is the preferred treatment for these soft tissue injuries and returns patients to their pre-accident state as quickly as possible

Headaches And Migraines

Headaches and migraines can be caused by whiplash, head injuries or other types of car accident injuries. Headaches may appear when your neck is damaged because the stress or strain on your neck muscles can cause pain to radiate to your head.

If you are experiencing headaches after your car accident, then you should get treated as soon as possible. Restoring proper head posture can relieve headache and neck pain and restore strength and flexibility.

Other Injuries

Headaches can also be suggestive of a Mild Traumatic Brain Injury (MTBI). MTBIs can often occur during motor vehicle crashes even though the patient never loses consciousness.

A herniated disc, which is another injury that can be sustained in an auto accident, occurs when a spinal disc bulges and puts pressure on the nerves in your back. A sudden jerk from a car accident can cause a disc herniation or sciatica which is often felt as pain that radiates from the lower (lumbar) spine to the buttock and back of the leg.
